My dad visited the Marshall islands recently. They are some very low laying islands in the Pacific. Mostly just beaches with roads next to them.

Honeybees sheltering behind patches of wildflower while tanks make war with pesticides.
I think it is a little too decorative for the message. But I'm starting to use paint again.
Though, I don't know if anyone could help me.. or if it is just my machine. I can't seem to scan it very forgivingly.

Drawing. Alone Outside

Also, I was playing about testing potato prints on an important letter from the royal mail (oops). When I looked closer at the check pattern inside. So nice!

Some things that the rain made.

I thought I'd take a photo of my makeshift studio (as if I am busy enough to have a studio). Its funny to have tomatoes around you, apples and also figs which apparently don't ripen after they've been picked. Outside the window is the garden and through the bushes is a field with a white and a brown horse in it.

And my sketchbook. Some circles that I quite like making. Just pick a colour combination and make some marks. You can think about some things as you do it.

Please excuse my poorly made sketchbook.

I'm alone for two weeks in France looking after the house here.
Yesterday a robin got caught in the porch. I tried for a while to herd him out. Then I looked at him and promised not to hurt him. I think it must have been out of shock that he let me pick him up after that. And then outside, he sat there, in a trance maybe. Go on! Get off my finger! And he went.

Above is a doodle of Johanne's cat Molly and a proper drawing of a house in a town near here called Rohan.

website

Okay. It's been sitting there for long enough.

And I think I will now tentatively call my website finished.

We found a line of birch trees in the woods, with a nice mossy covering underneath to sit on. Later I learnt that these lines in the woods are leftover territory borders (in the UK from the Tudors but i don't know what the German equivalent of a Tudor is). The other trees grow up around them and it makes it seem like the lines just grew like that naturally.

Photos 2,3,5,7,8 are taken by Johanne. Oh and i think they are her woods as well (officially). So I'm just happilly milking all her nice things that she has shared with me. La lala..

a day

As well as sitting about amongst all these objects and skies I have been trying to be a good graduate. Keeping busy. Websites almost done, pdf is started, mail outs, thinking about them, and this childrens book i am doing. I got a bit sad when i googled for seals earlier (don't do this if you like seals a lot!).

This is a nice blog.
