Characters

The characters in the childrens book I have been drawing for the past four weeks don't look like this, but they could have.

Method

I'm in an exhibition in the Bradshaw gallery. The opening yesterday afternoon was pretty busy. The work will be up all next week and the week after so if you are about you should go and see it and be impressed with our really really talented little illustration class.

Spoons

"My interest in the scientific method has something to do with wanting to quanify things and yet realising that it is an impossible goal. So actually just dancing around quantifying something is to keep it alive. It’s almost as soon as you capture something – whatever it is, this moment – you kill it.” Spencer Finch

I made a silly performance piece the other day with spoons over my ears. It felt good.

Berlin part two

I think perhaps it was a little optimistic of me to start calling these parts. This may be the last.

I loved being able to see the Fernsehturm wherever you went in the city. It seems so accididentally beautiful, like the graffitti, and bits of this and that, it all seems to fit together so effortlessly.

Dan-ah Kim

I've been a little ill recently. A bad start to the new semester. I'm currently in bed. And just had a cup of tea, left to brew too long and far too bitter. It's made me feel a little queezy.

This is an artist who I have loved for a quite a while now. Her name is Dan-ah Kim.

1.The Stars are Against Me Tonight
2.To Alive to Stay
4.Bathe in the Setting Sun

I love the narrative in her work. And the beautiful way in which she uses different textures and patterns. She also makes films which are equally as nice.

Today I've also been looking at japanese illustrators, Tadahiro Uesugi and Tatsuro Kiuchi.

I think I'd like very much to go to Japan with a freind and travel round all the islands.
Hokkaido, Honshu, Kyushu, Shikoku.
